The President and Chief Executive Officer of Virostatics, Franco Lori received his MD from the University of Parma in Italy. Dr. Lori was Senior Investigator in the Laboratory of Tumor Cell Biology at the National Cancer Institute (NCI, NIH) before co-founding RIGHT with Dr. Julianna Lisziewicz in 1994. As co-director of RIGHT, Dr. Lori successfully raised over $20 million to fund innovative research in the HIV/AIDS field and has overseen the successful start-up of three biotechnology companies.
In 2000, Dr. Lori was recognized as a "Hero in Medicine" for his achievements in HIV therapy. The International Association of Physicians in AIDS Care (IAPAC) gave its Heroes in Medicine Award to 40 women and men who developed the first organized US and international response to what would become the AIDS pandemic.
Dr. Lori has authored and co-authored over 100 publications in the field of HIV/AIDS. He is a much sought-after presenter on innovative therapeutic approaches in the treatment of HIV and AIDS.

Sylva Petrocchi began her career in 1993 with SNAMPROGETTI S.p.A (ENI group), as Executive Secretary and Assistant for an Algerian and French engineering delegation. In 1995, she was given responsibility for all Chinese delegations of SNAMPROGETTI as well as becoming Assistant Manager of Customer Service.
Ms. Petrocchi joined RIGHT in August, 1997. Initially serving as Administrative Assistant of RIGHT in Italy, she rose to Chief of Administrative Office with administrative responsibilities as well as managing all organizational and Public Relation initiatives.
In addition to her duties as Chief Operations Officer for Virostatics, Ms. Petrocchi also is a member of the RIGHT Board of Directors.

Dr. Michael Stevens joined Virostatics as Chief Development Officer in 2007. Prior to joining the Company, Dr. Stevens held a number of positions within Bristol-Myers Squibb. As Vice President, Virology Medical Affairs for the United States business group, he oversaw Medical Information, the Medical Science Associates program, Clinical Intelligence, and Phase IV clinical trials in HIV/AIDS.
Dr. Stevens has served as a member of the Executive Council for the Forum for Collaborative HIV Research -- a public-private partnership that facilitates discussion on emerging issues in HIV clinical research and works to translate research results into patient care. Dr. Stevens has also served on 15 Protocol Committees within the Adult AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG).
Dr. Stevens has authored and co-authored more than 40 papers and clinical posters in the areas of pharmacokinetics, nutrition, and HIV/AIDS. Dr. Stevens assumed the role of The Chief Development Officer for Virostatics in March, 2007.

Joining Virostatics as our Clinical Research Project Manager, Dr. Meroni brings over 17 years of experience in both the Pharmaceutical Industry and the Clinical Research Organization (CRO) area. Most recently she served as the Clinical Research and Medical Affairs Manager for GB Pharma Services & Consulting based in Pavia, Italy. Dr. Meroni has also gained experience with Pharmacia, Astra Zeneca and other pharmaceutical companies.
Dr. Meroni's extensive experience in her roles both in the Pharmaceutical Industry and with Clinical Research Organizations positions her well to coordinate the many aspects of Virostatics' clinical studies and development activities.

Barbara Bussoli has been active in clinical research since joining AMGEN Italy in 1992. Prior to joining the Virostatics Management Team, she was the Quality Assurance Manager for GB Pharma Services & Consulting where she was responsible for obtaining and maintaining ISO 9001:2000 certification, monitoring investigator sites for a wide variety of clinical trials, and overseeing Pharmacovigilance activities at the multi-national level.
With a wealth of experience in both the Pharmaceutical Industry and Clinical Research Organizations, Dr. Bussoli is well qualified to direct Virostatics' Quality Assurance activities with respect to clinical trials, ICH and GCP compliance, governmental regulations, and corporate SOPs.

Gabriella Barbieri graduated magna cum laude in Foreign Languages and Literature from the University of Pavia (Italy) in November 2004. She began her career at RIGHT (the Research Institute for Genetic and Human Therapy) in 2005 as Administrative Assistant and Translator. At RIGHT she contributed to the organization's success by performing multiple tasks including accounting, travel planning and arrangements, text editing of manuscripts submitted to scientific journals, and administrative support of clinical trials.
Ms. Barbieri joined ViroStatics in October 2008 as Administration Coordinator.
