AV-HALT Screening Technology
Our AV-HALT platform is designed to develop compounds that incorporate a partially antiproliferative action (limiting, not blocking, cell proliferation) to attenuate an overly aggressive immune response with a "direct" acting antiviral component to reduce viral load. A critical element in the success of this approach is establishing the optimal balance between these two modes of activity.
Utilizing the data and know-how that we have accumulated through our VS411 clinical studies, we have developed a proprietary multi-parameter screening process for the identification of second-generation AV-HALTs combining the class' two modes of action in a single molecule.
Employing our proprietary AV-HALT screening platform, ViroStatics has established in-house drug discovery programs centered around two directed chemical libraries of novel compounds which were in-licensed from the University of Siena, Italy, and from Vichem Chemie, Hungary, in 2009 and 2010, respectively. second generation AV-HALTS.
We are actively pursuing our in-house drug discovery program for second-generation AV-HALTs and are looking to in-license compounds to complement our internal pipeline.
